Headwaters Academy is intentionally small and intentionally rigorous. Tuition reflects the individualized attention, land-based programming, and structured academic environment we provide. We‘re committed to transparency and clarity as you consider this investment.

2026–2027 Tuition Rates

Elementary Program (K–4)

$9,900 per year
After $500 deposit: $9,400 balance
3% full-year discount: $9,603 total tuition; $9,103 annual payment after deposit

Middle School Program (5–8)

$10,900 per year
After $500 deposit: $10,400 balance
3% full-year discount: $10,573 total tuition; $10,073 annual payment after deposit

* Fifth grade placement may align with either elementary or middle school programming depending on enrollment balance and developmental fit.

Monthly Options
Elementary balance over 10 months: $940/month
Middle school balance over 10 months: $1,040/month

Discounts

  • Sibling discount of 10% (first child is full tuition, second child 10% off, third child is 10% off, etc.)

  • Full year payment discount of 3% if received by August 23, 2026

  • Full year pre-payment discount of 10% if received by June 30, 2026

Payment Options

A $500 nonrefundable deposit is made at the time of enrollment. Families then have the following payment options for the remainder of tuition:

  • 1 annual installment with 3% discount if paid by August 23, 2026

  • 1 annual installment with 3% discount if paid by June 30, 2026

  • 9 or 10 monthly installments (September - May, or September - June)

Annual Fees

  • $150 application fee

  • NO school supply fees

  • NO small field trip fees

  • Tuition covers:

    • Daily academic instruction

    • Land-based and food systems programming

    • Social-emotional learning instruction

    • Classroom materials and core curriculum

    • Mixed-age community experiences

    • Regular family communication and conferences

    • Single-day field trips

    We don’t practice hidden curriculum fees. Transparency matters.

  • Families may choose from the following payment options:

    • Full annual payment (10% discount if paid by June 30, 3% discount if paid by August 24)

    • Monthly tuition plan (Due the first of the month September through May)

    Enrollment is confirmed upon signed agreement and non-refundable $500 deposit, which covers the first and last week of school and confirms a year-long commitment.

  • Application Fee: $150 (non-refundable)
    Enrollment Deposit: $500 (non-refundable and applied toward tuition)

    The deposit secures your child’s place in the classroom.

  • Headwaters is committed to expanding access to this model of education. While we are not yet able to offer formal financial aid, we seek to build an endowment to support future tuition assistance.

    We understand that financial planning is part of every family’s decision-making process and are happy to speak transparently about payment schedules and options.
